Collages

The collage work explores the role of girls and women.  It utilizes vintage magazines and deconstructed images to explore love, femininity, relationships, girlhood and Womanness. The gold/yellow thread is used to provide protection and symbolizes love, compassion, courage, and spiritual energy.  These pieces are personal reflections on gender identity and the complexity that is balanced with the reality and pressures felt with social norms.  A sample portfolio is below.
